REPORT ON THE ANNUAL DINNER 2009

The 35th anniversary dinner was hosted by Cecil Naughton, President of the Union 2008/2009 in the Royal Irish Yacht Club on Saturday the 23rd May, 2009.

A compliment of nearly 60 turned out ranging throughout the years and it was a terrific evening.

There were a number of guests in attendance including Cecil’s special guests.

Father Timoney, Father Brennan, Father Shiel, Father Jim Moran and Father John Guiney, SJ (1972 ) were all in attendance.

The Club which was an ideal venue could not have been more attentive in ensuring that the event was a success.

Fr Brennan replied on behalf of the Guests.

The AGM prior to dinner with about 40 attendees, was up to its usual high standard of wit and repartee.

Roger Fitzgerald was invested as President of the Union for the year 2009/ 2010.

The event also hosted a Reunion of the 1959 Class of which Cecil was a member and a number of excellent photographs are available here.

It was the 50th anniversary of the 1959 class and among others who attended was Pedro Alvarez, a class mate of Cecils who traveled specially from Pais Vasco in Northern Spain to attend.
